resin|casting

Cold cast bronze can look exactly the same as traditionalbronze, but it has two major advantages.
Firstly it can capture significantly more detail on the artwork such as threads and surface finishes, secondly it is considerably less expensive.
Its durability is equal to that of traditional bronze.
Many famous artists have used this material for portrait and figurative works.

There are different techniques used to achieve a metallic
finish with a resin. Cold-casting is a term used to describe the process of mixing resin with a metal powder and pouring the mixture into a mould to obtain a casting that gives the appearance of solid metal.
Different metal powders such as bronze, brass, copper,
aluminium and iron can be added depending on the surface
finish desired.
This cold-casting process is faster and much less
expensive when compared with hot metal casting.
