HOMMAGE A
MONDRIAN
This project is a tribute to the creative work of Piet Mondrian.
Having once arrived at his famous geometric style Mondrian never
returned to the figurative representation of nature, which is
so characteristic of his earlier works. «Nature should not
be a model», he used to say. The idea of my project was
to explore the different ways in which nature can be represented,
using Mondrian’s distinction between «nature as a
vision» and «nature as a concept».
The exhibition consists of several parts:
1. A series of geometric abstractions: paintings and graphic works.
2. Photographs of paintings placed in different environments
3. A series of collages in which images of nature are used to
create compositions structured according to the logic of geometric
art.
