Brought up in Greece I was strongly influenced by its colour and
culture. I was educated in England where my style was formed under
the influence of the organic style in contemporary ceramics, abstract
and conceptual art.
Making mostly functional ceramics for five years my work is now
becoming more contextual.
I feel that clay, because of its durability, is asking for a message
to carry through the years. At the same time we are living in
an era of dramatic change that challenge me to record the way
I see or feel things. My aesthetics derive from ancient ceramics
and the look of decay as well as observations from nature.
I often experiment with other material in conjuction with ceramics.
I have also taken up Fresco painting. Lime (used in Fresco) and
clay are both very durable material, suitable for murals.
Last mural project I was involved in is currently been installed
in Ecology centre at Mile End Park.
Expected opening date is the 4th of March 2001.
